The highschool I had been in is one of the best high school in the City of Shanghai and most of its students later went to prominent colleges. And due to my high course score and prizes in interschool science contests, I was offer a privilage of entrance exam exemption when I went to the college. The college, East China University of Science and Technology, was previous named as East China Institute of Chemical Technologies. It is featured in Chemistry research and education. There I have receive comprehensive training in Chemical theories and laboratory technologies. Meanwhile I have also learned basic biochemistry and molecular biological technologies in my major study. I spent most of my fourth college year in Chinese Academy of Science Shanghai Institute of Cell Biology working on my bachelor's thesis. There I got the first experience of basic academic research. Later I enter the institute after a highly competitive examination. The institute has strong background in cell biology, developmental biology as well as molecular biology technologies. I am now a graduate majored in development worked in the (amphibian) early embryogenesis group. |
